Q:
Why would a health
care provider (doctor or hospital, etc.) agree to accept less for its services?
A:
Providers charge different rates depending on whether the patient is a member
of an insurance network or not. Providers also charge different contracted
rates to different insurance networks. Usually, if a patient goes to a doctor
who is “out-of-network” (i.e. not a preferred provider of the patient’s
insurance company), the doctor will bill that patient at a higher rate than he
or she bills in-network patients. Therefore, providers’ billing offices have
become accustomed to receiving calls from insurance adjusters seeking to settle
medical claims.
Q:
How much can I expect to
save?
A:
We have over 14 years of negotiating health care claims, and we usually save
our clients 5% to 20% of their bill. We have reduced claims by as much as 90%.
Our average savings is 20%. Our fee is 35% of savings. So you will realize
savings of 65% of whatever we are able to save you. See Link 3 Example of
Savings and Fees
Q:
Do I have to have insurance to use our services?
A:
No. If you owe more than $1,000.00 in medical bills, we will review whether the
provider’s charges were reasonable, regardless of whether you have insurance or
not.
Q: Do I have to pay
the provider and HHC Group by credit or debit card?
A:
Yes. We will confirm that you have sufficient funds to pay your medical bill
before we will call your provider to negotiate your claim. We must have the
ability to verify to the provider that it will be paid promptly, and to do
that, we must have your preauthorized credit card information for payment. If
we are successful in reducing your bill, we will, with your authorization
through your acceptance of the terms of the Agreement, Payment Authorization,
and Release provide your credit card information to the provider for payment of
the reduced amount. We will charge our fee to your card.
Q:
Can I send H.H.C. Group claims from any state?
A:
Yes. Our proprietary database has nationwide provider billing data due to our
experience negotiating with providers in all 50 states. As a result, we can
calculate fair and reasonable charges by zip code.
